Caledonia Hometown Holidays

December 2 and 3, 2011

The much loved Celtic Concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church on Friday evening. This has become a favorite tradition in our community and the church is always packed to capacity for the wonderful sounds of flutes, lyres, and various Celtic instruments. Funding for this is provided in part by the New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Regrant Program administered by the Genesee Valley Council on the Arts.

Saturday is a busy day for everyone as we visit the various stores in Caledonia and Mumford as well as finding the right gifts and food at the Caledonia Fire Hall Craft Sale, open from 10 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The Antique Stores are full of treasures as are the Quilting Folks on North Street and don't forget Country Junktion.

The Big Springs Museum will be open for visiting and for lunch from 11:30 - 1:00 p.m. A Soup and Sandwich benefits you and the Museum. You"ll enjoy a look around as well.

A fun Parade begins at 12:30 p.m. Be sure to find your place on Main Street early.  While waiting for the parade to start, visit the merchants on the street. You’ll find some surprises as well as some great bargains. The holiday trees found around the village have been decorated by many clubs and groups, enjoy the trees and let folks know you appreciate their hard work. Be sure to cheer the parade groups as they pass on their way to the Fire Hall.

The Annual Community Tree Lighting will be held in front of the Village Offices on Main Street, Saturday after the parade.  Mayor Calourie will officiate and a CMCS Musical Group will entertain before the lighting. Come on down and join us, it’s your tree, too!
